SUPREMO 2013
PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA

"SUPREMO 2013" This magnificent wine from Tenute Bruno is one of the most important reserve wines, produced from indigenous grapes from Puglia grown with the most stringent methods of ORGANIC agriculture on red clay soils that cover the region of Manduria, an area that has always represented the ideal location to grow the Primitivo grape, as evidenced in practice by ancient written sources.

The Supremo Riserva 2013 Primitivo di Manduria DOP is produced 100% from the grape of the same name. After the harvesting and manual selection of the grapes, we proceed with the stemming of the bunches and the subsequent slow fermentation at a controlled temperature with gentle handling of the must in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation.

The ageing continues for 12 months in new French barrels of 225 litres, manufactured exclusively from oak wood coming from the Allier forest. This process allows the wine to age slowly by means of a redox process that occurs through the wooden fibres infusing the wine with a more intense aroma, a smell of toast and a more balanced and more mature taste.

Due to the toasting the oak wood of the barrel gives the wine gallic acid and tannins which are initially very sharp but with time and during ageing in the bottle, confer upon it a precious bouquet of ripe berries, notes of chocolate caramel, tobacco and spices such as pepper and cinnamon. Thus was born the Supremo Riserva Wine 2013 from Tenute Bruno, with complex and persistent bouquets that will continue to develop over time.
